“A Flower Shop Mystery “~ Book 8
Florist Abigail Knight is stepping on a lot of toes with her protests against Uniworld Food Corporation, a giant, new dairy farm coming to her hometown of New Chapel, Indiana. Nils Raand, the local representative of Uniworld is truly spooking Abby out, and she is convinced that he is behind all the bad things that are happening to her and her family. Her cousin was recently “kidnapped” because the criminals believed her to be Abby, plus her flower shop, Bloomers, was broken into and trashed. Instead of scaring her off, these incidents have made Abby more determined to see Mr. Raand behind bars. The authorities are begging her to stay out of this investigation, but do you think for one minute that she will? Of course not.
On the personal side, Marco and Abby haven’t really talked about their engagement, much less set a wedding date. They just really wished their families would leave them alone and let them work everything out by themselves. But, their hints are getting broader and more irksome by the day.
Kate Collins has succeeded in keeping this wonderful series fresh as a daisy. The ensemble of permanent characters all contribute to make the stories up-beat, humorous, and appealing. Abby has definitely turned into one of the best amateur sleuths in the world of fiction, and it is always a joy to delve into each new case with her.
