Things are not going well for Londoner Neve. She walks away from her job, her former boyfriend has moved on and living with her sister and brother-in-law is not working out. After a one night stand she is making her way home and meets Isabella on the Waterloo Bridge. Isabella talks to her briefly, sends a text and jumps, committing suicide in front of Neve. A couple of weeks later Neve is contacted by a solicitor and told that Isablla has left her a cottage.
Neve decides she needs to make some changes in her life and moving to a charming cottage near Cornwall is just the thing. However, dead magpies, bars on windows and a dark sinister cottage is not what she had in mind. What is the secret that the cottage hides and are Neve's fears real? Things do not add up and Neve begins to feel that her life may be in danger. A good, scary read.
