Everyone in Broward’s Rock believes Paul Martin committed suicide. Well, everyone except his sister Lucy. When wealthy Jane Corley is murdered a few days after Paul’s death, Lucy becomes convinced that Paul knew something about who might want to kill Jane and was murdered before he could say something. Lucy manages to convince bookstore owner Annie Darling and her husband Max that she is right. Now armed with a sketch and note left by Paul, Annie and Max begin searching for the real killer.
With the 24th installment in her popular “Death on Demand” mysteries, Hart once again demonstrates her mastery at creating a refreshingly tradition mystery. Annie and Max are charmingly romantic as always, and Annie’s trio of sleuthing sidekicks adds some welcome notes of light humor to the story. Most importantly, Death at the Door’s cleverly crafted plot and surfeit of potential suspects will definitely keep readers interested in figuring out whodunit wonderfully entertained.
