Product Description:

Bound by honor and by love…

That’s a Montana Man

Ford Kendrick has often dreamed of the day that Jamie Keller would come home to Montana. After high school, she needed to leave—and he, duty-bound to rescue his family’s ranch, pushed her to go. The Army made Jamie a hero, but Ford still sees the gorgeous, loving woman who lit up his whole world.

Every day since she left, Jamie has longed for Ford. One glimpse confirms it: the sexy, dangerous-looking cowboy left a hole in her heart that nothing else can fill. Yet the battle scars she bears—inside and out—won’t let her trust anyone enough to get close.

Ford wants to bring Jamie back to the life they dreamed of building. But locked somewhere in her memories is a dark truth that threatens her safety. It’s a battle Ford won’t let her fight alone, not when he’s determined to keep her by his side, now and always…

It’s been eleven years since rancher Ford Kendrick let the love of his life, Jamie Keller walk away. It seemed like a good idea at the time, back when he thought it was the only way to manage the ranch and his family obligations without holding Jamie back. He’d always regretted that decision, but seeing her now, a woman shattered by post traumatic stress disorder, makes that regret and his determination to have her back, all the more acute.

Jamie’s military service in Afghanistan ended abruptly when her convoy was attacked by a rocket propelled grenade, leaving all but one of her crewmembers dead, and Jamie severely burned. The experience devastated her, mind and body, forcing her to move home to her sharp-tongued, judgmental mother, and a well-meaning community that doesn’t understand her emotional anguish.

And as if things couldn’t get more complicated for her, the other surviving member of her crew, Sergeant Tobin, shows up at her doorstep with his own, self-serving agenda. He has designs on winning her trust and stealing her away from the healing comfort of Ford’s love. Ford will have none of it.

Ryan’s seventh Montana Men novel leads readers through the dark psychological and emotional turmoil of post traumatic stress disorder. Jamie’s obnoxious mother and manipulative Sergeant Tobin are portrayed as the perfect villains, impossible to ignore and so easy to despise. Ford is Jamie’s lifeline, and his patience and dedication to help her recover is a testament to the irresistible power of love, the hallmark of a true happily ever after. Loved it.
