Product Description:

Late summer blooms in beautiful Sea Harbor, Massachusetts, and while a harvest thrives, Izzy Chambers Perry and the other Seaside Knitters will need to cast on their sleuthing skills to save a local farm.  Unfortunately, finding a killer can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. . . .

Seaside Knitter Birdie Favazza has long loved knitting, but lately she’s taken on a new challenge—making a family farm operational again. With help from friends, Lambswool Farm is now up and running, with thriving crops and grazing sheep.  In addition, the farm will host rustic, six-course prix fixe dinners plated by local chefs and served on a gorgeous restored harvest table, decorated to perfection with colorful knitted vegetables crafted by Izzy Chambers Perry, her aunt Nell, and the other Seaside Knitters.

But on the night of the first meal, everything spins out of control when one of the guests, Seaside Harbor’s family physician, becomes fatally ill. It seems that behind Dr. Alan Hamilton’s friendly bedside manner was a man with enemies and secrets.

Soon the town is gossiping and pointing fingers at all possible suspects—including the women at Lambswool Farm. Now the Seaside Knitters must join together to uncover the truth in Dr. Hamilton’s complicated past—and restore peace to town and country alike.

It’s not uncommon for Nell and her friends to meet a newcomer – after all, Seaside is a quaint village on the Massachusetts coast that draws visitors from all over the world. But there’s something about Glenn Mackenzie that intrigues Nell. What’s brought the young doctor to Seaside – and why does he seem to have something to hide?

Nell has other things to worry about, however, and Glenn soon slips off of her radar. She’s worried about her friend, town doctor Alan Hamilton, who seems unusually fatigued and distracted. When Alan’s sudden death is determined to be murder, Nell and her friends are shocked, wondering who could possibly want the kind and caring doctor dead.

All eyes turn to Glenn Mackenzie, the newcomer who has not been forthcoming about his reasons to stick around Seaside for longer than originally stated. But Glenn is not the only one who falls under suspicion, and as Nell and her close knit group soon discover, there are several other people connected to Dr. Hamilton’s clinic who could have cause to kill him. A closer examination is definitely called for, and as the Seaside Knitters begin to pick up bits and pieces, their persistence pays off, leading them to the end of a sad story indeed.

Murder at Lambswool Farm is the eleventh story in Sally Goldenbaum’s “Seaside Knitters” series, and the friendship between this group of small town residents remains as fresh and charming as ever. Although they live in an enviable location, the number of murders is decidedly high, giving the friends lots of opportunities to practice their amateur sleuthing. That said, the Seaside Knitters are a genuinely appealing group that one would be lucky to be a part of! Even if you aren’t headed to the coast for vacation, tuck Murder at Lambswool Farm in your luggage for a taste of salty sea air…and homicide!
