Product Description:

"An assured, powerful novel that blends suspense and rich family drama...it is, in a word, unforgettable." --William Landay, author of DEFENDING JACOB

Wendy Walker's All Is Not Forgotten begins in the small, affluent town of Fairview, Connecticut, where everything seems picture perfect.

Until one night when young Jenny Kramer is attacked at a local party. In the hours immediately after, she is given a controversial drug to medically erase her memory of the violent assault. But, in the weeks and months that follow, as she heals from her physical wounds, and with no factual recall of the attack, Jenny struggles with her raging emotional memory. Her father, Tom, becomes obsessed with his inability to find her attacker and seek justice while her mother, Charlotte, struggles to pretend this horrific event did not touch her carefully constructed world.

As Tom and Charlotte seek help for their daughter, the fault lines within their marriage and their close-knit community emerge from the shadows where they have been hidden for years, and the relentless quest to find the monster who invaded their town - or perhaps lives among them - drive this psychological thriller to a shocking and unexpected conclusion.

Amazon.com Review:

An Amazon Best Book of July 2016: Okay, I’m not going to sugar coat this—the first chapter is a doozy. You will read about a teenage girl named Jenny being attacked, and as you might expect it’s not a pretty picture. Now having said that, there’s a good chance that this chapter will be far less difficult than what probably just popped into your mind, so fear not and forge ahead. All Is Not Forgotten is narrated by the psychiatrist to whom the victim and her family turn when a controversial memory drug turns out to have unanticipated consequences. Over the course of the novel there are a myriad of secrets, dropped like bread crumbs by the one who hears them all. In this small, idyllic, Connecticut town there is plenty going on beneath the surface, particularly when it comes to the inner lives of the husbands and wives…Yes, there are a couple other brutal passages along the way but it’s worth wading through every one of them to reach the zinger at the end. --Seira Wilson, The Amazon Book Review

Fifteen-year-old Jenny Kramer is excited when a boy she likes invites her to a party, only to be distressed when she spots him with another girl. She takes out her sorrow and humiliation by overindulging in vodka and after getting sick, she runs outside and into the woods. The dark and ominous forest is where she is brutally assaulted.

Afterward, broken and half comatose, Jenny manages to drag herself back to the house where when is discovered, paramedics rush her to the hospital. Her mom, more upset about what people will think and her standing in the affluent community, insists her daughter receive a new drug treatment which is supposed to erase her memory. Her father, however, isn't too anxious to go this route, but he defers to his overbearing wife.

Time passes and though Jenny recovers physically, her feelings run out of control as she is unable to remember and process her painful ordeal. Her dad's obsession is to find the man who attacked his precious daughter, while Jenny's mom acts as though the trauma never happened.

The Kramer's seek therapy for Jenny when she cannot manage her emotions or resume her normal life. Her parents also meet with the psychiatrist to sort out the debilitating problems in their marriage as they try to help Jenny.

All Is Not Forgotten commences with an unknown narrator who becomes understandable as the story progresses and is deeply entwined within the plot. Other characters introduced in subplots add to the tension and psychology of the premise keeping the reader on their toes up until the unexpected ending. This psychological thriller offers a suspenseful mystery while supplying vital information into the workings of the human mind after dealing with a horrific situation.
